Hundreds of marchers gathered at Trump International Hotel Waikiki to protest President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday. The peaceful protest march was a organized by local and national environmental and human rights organizations—dubbed Hawaii J20— and started as three different marches across Honolulu which converged into one in Waikiki. After protesting at Trump’s hotel the march continued through Waikiki and ended at the Waikiki Shell where a free concert was held. With a police escort on Ala Moana Blvd, about 50 people marched from Ala Moana Park, waved signs and shouted their discontent in their concern and in protest of the inauguration of President Donald Trump, Friday, January 20, 2017. The Ala Moana Park marchers met up with two other groups of several hundred that made their way to the Trump International Hotel Waikiki. There was a no-host breakfast at Big City Diner in the Ward Entertainment Center to view the Trump inauguration on TV. At least 63 Hawaii Republicans attended the event (according to Jack James, Exec. Der. Hawaii Republican Party).
