Senior hitter Kupono Fey had two of the Rainbow Warriors’ four aces and freshman middle Patrick Gasman was in on five of Hawaii’s first six blocks.
The Warriors (13-2) are off to their best start since also opening 13-2 in 1998. Hawaii finishes out its four-match road trip on Wednesday at Lindenwood (0-10) in St. Charles, Mo.
Senior middle Wyatt Patterson had eight kills for the Bearcats (5-11), who have lost five straight.
Hawaii outblocked McKendree 10.5-6 and finished with a 34-19 edge in digs. Sophomore hitter Brett Rosenmeier and junior libero Tui Tuileta each had eight digs for the Warriors.
