    A light earthquake struck Hawaii island this morning.

A light earthquake struck the Volcano area of Hawaii island this morning but does not pose a tsunami threat.

The preliminary magnitude 4.3 quake struck at 10:27 a.m. today, 30.4 miles south-southwest of Hilo at a depth of 984 feet, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

“No tsunami is expected. However, some areas may have experienced shaking,” the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said in a statement.
