Man seriously injured in shooting in Kakaako

Police responded today to a shooting in an unit above Club Sun on Cummins Street in Kakaako.

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Kakaako early today.

The shooting occurred at about 4:15 a.m. in an upstairs unit in the Club Sun building at 532 Cummins St. Police are investigating the shooting as a possible attempted robbery

Emergency Medical Services transported a 46-year-old man to a trauma hospital in serious condition after he sustained a gunshot wound. However, police said the man had been transported in extremely critical condition.

Today’s shooting is the same area where a previous shooting occurred in December.

At about 5:45 a.m. on Dec. 24, witnesses said they heard a gunshot near Club Sun at the intersection of Kawaiahao and Cummins streets.

A 39-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and back. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a hospital in serious but stable condition.
