Paramedics transported a 27-year-old man to a trauma hospital in critical condition early today after he struck a city bus and utility pole fronting the Kalihi Transit Center.

Just before 12:20 a.m., Emergency Medical Services said the man was traveling mauka on Middle Street in a sedan when the vehicle struck the bus and then the pole.

The crash caused a power outage to 60 customers. As of 7:30 a.m., Hawaiian Electric Co. restored power to all but three customers.
