UH baseball powers past CSUN

The University of Hawaii baseball team amassed 15 hits, including two home runs, to defeat Cal State Northridge, 9-4, today at Matador Field.

The Rainbow Warriors evened the three-game series at a victory apiece. The finale is Sunday at 10 a.m. Hawaii time.

Johnny Weeks and Eric Ramirez hit home runs to continue the ‘Bows’ power surge. They hit five in Friday’s series-opening loss.

Jackson Rees started in place of left-handed Dominc DeMiero, who is suffering from a tender pitching arm. Rees spaced seven hits and five walks in 5 1/3 innings to improve to 4-0. He was helped by two double plays and two Matadors picked off first.
