Police captured a 54-year-old man who allegedly robbed a bank in Waianae last week.

Officers located the suspect Monday morning on Makau Street in Makaha. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery, violation of supervised release, promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree and drug paraphernalia.

The robbery occurred at about 11:07 a.m. Wednesday at the American Savings Bank’s Waianae branch, 86-120 Farrington Highway. Police said the suspect handed a demand note to a teller.

After the teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
