A 66-year-old man who died after he was found unresponsive at Makaiwa Bay on the Big Island has been identified as Mark Pine.

Police said autopsy results determined Pine, of Walnut Creek, Calif., died of an undisclosed medical condition.

Shortly after 9:35 a.m. Monday, police responded to a report of an unresponsive man who was pulled out of the bay off of South Kaniku Drive.

Medics responded and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Pine was transported to the North Hawaii Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:55 a.m.
