Police ID man found floating in Hilo Bay

Hawaii County police today identified the body found in Hilo Bay as that of 46-year-old Arthur Miller III.

Police made the identification through fingerprints.

Miller had no permanent address, police said.

A person reported seeing a body floating in Hilo Bay on May 15.

The Hawaii County Fire Department located and recovered the nude body of a man a quarter mile off the Wainaku shoreline.

The body was taken to the Hilo Medical Center, where the man was pronounced dead.

No foul play is suspected, but the cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology tests, police said.
