Hawaii catcher Kekai Rios (5) tagged out UC Santa Barbara’s Kenny Corey (5) during the third inning of Thursday’s game.

First baseman Austin Bush whacked two home runs to power UC Santa Barbara to 7-2 baseball victory over Hawaii tonight at Les Murakami Stadium.

Bush, a 6-foot-6, 265-pound junior, hit a three-run homer in a five-run third to stake the Gauchos to a 5-0 lead.

In the fifth, he added a solo blast. It was his 20th home run of the season, tops in the Big West. He has hit 10 home runs in the past 10 games.

Brendan Hornung allowed six earned runs in five innings in the final appearance of his two-year UH baseball career.

The teams meet at 6:35 p.m. Friday in the second game of this three-game Big West series.

The ’Bows fell to 26-23 overall and 8-14 in the Big West.
