Ex-convict charged with assaulting man, 73, in Mililani

A 20-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly assaulted an elderly man at a supermarket at Mililani Marketplace.

Tinei M.F.L. Sua, also known as Taua Sua, was charged Wednesday with third-degree assault, harassment, unauthorized entry into a dwelling and attempted assault of a law enforcement officer. His bail has been set at $30,000 aggregate bail.

At about 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, police said Sua assaulted a 73-year-old man at Safeway at 94-780 Meheula Parkway with an unspecified dangerous instrument. When a security guard confronted him, Sua harassed him before he fled to a nearby residential area.

He entered a home and police were called. Police said Sua allegedly resisted arrest as officers attempted to control him.

Sua has a criminal record of theft and criminal trespassing.
