Police arrested a 21-year-old man after he allegedly robbed a 34-year-old visitor in Waikiki.

At about midnight on Kalakaua Avenue Wednesday, police said the suspect took the woman’s purse by physical force. The victim’s purse contained her cellular phone, cash and credit cards.

Police said the suspect turned himself in to police shortly before 1 p.m. that day and was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery. He was released pending further investigation.

It’s unclear whether the victim’s purse and its contents were recovered.
