Honolulu police dispatchers, beset with a bedbug infestation, have left their offices after bedbugs were discovered earlier this week.
The communications personnel have been relocated to the alternate communications center in Kapolei.
Kamaaina Termite and Pest Control General Manager Mike Worden said his company was called Thursday morning and that the work was finished by the afternoon. Worden said his pest inspectors will return in a couple of weeks to do an inspection and spray lightly in areas where residual eggs might have hatched.
The blood-feeding parasites are considered among the most difficult pests to control in buildings and have undergone a resurgence, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
