Water main break closes section of Queen Street
A section of Queen Street in Kakaako is closed to motorists due to a 12-inch water main break early today.
The rupture on Queen between Cooke and Coral streets was reported at about 4:15 a.m., according to Kathleen Pahinui, spokeswoman for the Honolulu Board of Water Supply. Pahinui said eight area businesses are without water.
A water wagon is expected to be sent to the area. All lanes on Queen Street between Cooke and Coral streets will remain closed until repairs are completed.
The Board of Water Supply said repairs are expected to take most of the day.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
