Man charged after woman wakes to find him next to her at North Shore home

A 24-year-old man has been charged for allegedly unlawfully entering a North Shore residence.

Keveon Gomera was charged Wednesday with unauthorized entry into a dwelling in the second-degree. His bail was set at $11,000.

At about 9 p.m. Monday, police said a 28-year-old woman was asleep in her living room of her residence in Haleiwa when she woke up to a man later identified as Gomera sitting beside her.

The woman screamed and Gomera ran off. Court records said the victim’s roommate also was at the residence at the time.

Police said the victim and Gomera do not know each other.

A day later, police said the victim’s roommate sawGomera at an area grocery store.

Police were called and Gomera was arrested in Haleiwa near the victim’ residence shortly after midnight Wednesday.
