A Honolulu Police Department squad car goes flying in a scene from the upcoming season of “Marvel’s Inhumans,” premiering Sept. 29 on ABC.

A number of familiar faces and recognizable places greet Hawaii residents watching the latest trailer for ABC’s “Marvel’s Inhumans,” which debuted July 21 at Comic-Con in San Diego.

Fans of “Lost,” another ABC series filmed in Hawaii from 2004 to 2010, will remember Ken Leung, who plays an Inhuman named Karnak and is prominently featured in the latest trailer. Sonya Balmores Chung, a former Miss Hawaii Teen USA from Kauai who got her acting break in 2010’s “Soul Surfer,” makes an appearance as an Inhuman enforcer named Auran.

Another “Lost” alum, Henry Ian Cusick, didn’t make the trailer but will also appear in multiple episodes this season.

Don’t blink and you’ll even spot a few Honolulu Police Department squad cars on the streets of downtown Honolulu in the new clip; another trailer released in June includes glimpses of Waikiki as seen from the slopes of Diamond Head, the Hawaii State Capitol and what appears to be Kualoa Ranch.

“Inhumans” filmed on Oahu from March through June at various locations, including a new production facility constructed in Kalaeloa through a licensing agreement between the City and County of Honolulu, Honolulu Film Office, United States Navy and the National Guard that was facilitated by the State of Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism’s Creative Industries Division. Approximately 150 Hawaii residents were hired as members of the production crew while shooting took place.

Produced in partnership with Marvel Television and shot exclusively with IMAX cameras, the new series is based off characters first introduced to Marvel Comics fans in 1965 by Jack Kirby and legendary creator Stan Lee. The 2017 version on ABC tells the story of a superhuman race with “diverse and singularly unique powers” who apparently arrive on Earth via Oahu in the midst of a power struggle between members of the Inhumans’ royal family.

The first two episodes of “Inhumans” will be combined and screened in IMAX theaters nationwide for two weeks starting Sept. 1, with the complete eight-episode season premiering Sept. 29 on ABC. Visit abc.go.com for more about the show.
