1 of 2 suspects remains at large after taxi driver robbed in Kalihi

Police arrested one of two suspects who allegedly robbed a 24-year-old taxi driver in Kalihi early today.

At about 1:05 a.m., police said the taxi driver picked up one of the suspects. At some point, while stopped at a traffic light, a second suspect approached the vehicle from the driver’s side window and brandished an unspecified dangerous instrument.

Police said the second suspect restrained the victim while both suspects demanded the driver’s property.

The suspects then fled with the driver’s property.

No injuries to the victim were reported. Police said the driver’s vehicle sustained damage during the robbery.

Police located and arrested one of the suspects, a 24-year-old man, shortly afterward in the Kalihi area on suspicion of first-degree robbery.

The second suspect remains at large.
