Missing female inmate found in Nanakuli

State sheriffs located a 32-year-old inmate Thursday after she was reported missing a week ago from a job site in Kaneohe.

Deputies in the Sheriff Division Special Operations Section- Fugitive Unit located Leinette Reyes in Nanakuli at 9 a.m.

The Department of Public Safety said she was reported missing July 19 from a head count at a job site. Reyes was part of a crew of the Women’s Community Correctional Center assigned to weed cutting.

She is serving time for promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree, prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia and bail jumping in the first degree. The Public Safety Department said her sentence was to end in February.

Reyes now faces an escape charge.

18-year-old reports sex assault in Waikiki

Police are investigating a sex assault case in Waikiki involving an 18-year-old woman.

The victim reported she was sexually assaulted by a male suspect just after midnight Tuesday. Police said the victim did not know the suspect. No arrests have been made.

Woman arrested on burglary suspicion

Police arrested a 31-year-old woman after she allegedly burglarized a Kalihi residence.

Police said a witness saw the suspect enter the home at about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday and called 911. Police arrived and apprehended the suspect as she was exiting the home with undisclosed property belonging to one of the residents — a 52-year-old woman and 49-year-old man.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary.
