A Kentucky native was aboard the Black Hawk helicopter that crashed Tuesday night at sea off Kaena Point, two news outlets are reporting.
The family of Abigail Milam was informed Wednesday morning that she was a crew member on the helicopter when it went down, news outlet LEX18.com in Lexington, Ky., reported.
EKB-TV in Pikeville, Ky., said Milam is a 2001 graduate of Fleming Neon High School and studied at Southeast Kentucky Commuity and Technical College.
Milam’s Facebook page said she is a UH-60 Black Hawk repairer with the Army and that she lives in Waipahu. She said on the page that she is part of the 2nd battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment.
“May my heart be kind, my mind fierce and my spirit brave,” Milam included along with her Facebook profile picture.

Schofield Barracks officials confirmed all aboard the Black Hawk that went down are part of the 2-25th at Wheeler Army Airfield.
Milam’s wife, Tiffany Marie, posted on her own Facebook page: “Please say a prayer for my wife and for the other members on board the helicopter that went down. Please let them be found safe.”
