Police searching for Kapiolani bank robbery suspect

    Police released a photo of a man suspected of robbing the American Savings Bank branch at 1600 Kapiolani Blvd. today.

Police are searching for a man who robbed a Kapiolani Boulevard bank this morning.

The American Savings Bank branch at 1600 Kapiolani was robbed at about 10:35 a.m., when a man approached a teller with a note demanding money. Police said there was no mention of a weapon and none was seen. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money.

He is described as a slim caucasian male with short straight brown hair, in his late 20s, between 5-feet-8-inches and 6-feet tall, 140 to 160 pounds. He was wearing black sunglasses, a dark Polo shirt, black long pants, and red and black athletic shoes. He was also carrying a black backpack, police said.
