Police investigate possibly related robberies in Waipahu

Police are investigating two robberies that occurred in Waipahu over the weekend.

The first robbery occurred at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday at a commercial property parking lot in the 9400 block of Farrington Highway. Police said two male suspects in their 20s used a dangerous instrument and allegedly robbed a 26-year-old man. The robbers fled on foot with the victim’s property.

Within two hours, a second robbery occurred in a parking lot of a commercial property on Farrington Highway, near the location of the first robbery.

Police said a male suspect approached a 58-year-old woman, wielded a dangerous instrument and demanded her property at about 1 a.m. Sunday. The culprit then fled on foot before police arrived.

Police said the suspect was wearing a white mask, black-hooded sweatshirt and shorts at the time of the robbery.

There are no arrests at this time.

Police are investigating whether the two robberies were related.
