The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for Kauai until 8 p.m. today

At 5:07 p.m., radar indicated heavy rain near Anahola with rain falling at a rate of one to two inches per hour, the Weather Service said.

Locations mentioned in the advisory included Lihue, Kilauea, Anahola, Hanalei, Na Pali State Park, Omao, Wainiha, North Fork Wailua Trails, Moloaa, Waimea, Princeville and Wailua Homesteads.

A Weather Service forecaster today said a front to the northwest of Kauai was bringing the rainy weather.

A slight chance of thunderstorms was possible over and around Kauai through Monday night.

The front will gradually weaken and trade winds will return on Tuesday.
