Man, 64, charged after acquaintance stabbed in neck

A 64-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly stabbed a 53-year-old man in Waianae.

George A. Liner was charged Monday with second-degree assault. His bail has been set at $100,000.

At about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, police said a suspect later identified as Liner used a dangerous instrument and attacked the victim. The victim sustained two stab wounds in the back of his neck and a laceration to his back.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a hospital in serious condition.

Police said the men are acquaintances.

Police arrested Liner near Waianae Boat Harbor shortly before 11 p.m. on suspicion of attempted murder.

He has a criminal record of misdemeanor assault, felony escape, misdemeanor driving without a license and drinking in a public area, a petty misdemeanor.
