Hawaii outside hitter McKenna Granato placed a kill past UC Santa Barbara middle blocker Charlie Robinson during the first set.

Junior hitter McKenna Granato put down 18 kills and Hawaii won its ninth straight, sweeping UC Santa Barbara 25-20, 26-24, 25-11 in a Big West volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Wahine (11-5, 5-0) saw senior libero Savanah Kahakai move into fifth place on the program’s all-time digs list, her 11 tonight giving her 1,242. Senior middle Emily Maglio was in on 10 of Hawaii’s 12 blocks, including two solo.

The Gauchos (3-14, 2-3) dropped their third straight road match. Sophomore hitter Lindsey Ruddins, the conference leader in kills (5.53 kps), was held to 11.

Hawaii hosts Cal Poly (15-2, 5-0) on Saturday at 7 p.m. in an early showdown for first place in the Big West.
