Maglio leads Wahine past Long Beach State in 4 sets

Senior middle Emily Maglio put down 14 kills and recorded her second straight double-double with 10 blocks as Hawaii defeated Long Beach State 16-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-22 in a Big West volleyball match tonight in Long Beach, Calif.

Junior hitter McKenna Granato added 10 kills with 15 digs for her seventh double-double for the Rainbow Wahine (12-6, 6-1). Senior libero Savanah Kahakai finished with 15 digs, her eighth consecutive match in double digits and 14th time this season.

For the 49ers (5-15, 2-5), sophomore hitter Megan Kruidhof had 14 kills and sophomore libero-turned-hitter Haley Harward added 12 kills with 16 digs. Senior libero Rachel Nieto finished with a match-high 18 digs.

Hawaii finished with a 12-9 edge in blocks. Maglio has had 10 blocks in her each of the past three matches.

Helping keep The Beach in the game was 16 service errors by the Wahine.
