Soggy fields close Central Oahu Regional Park

Consistent rain and heavy ground saturation has forced city officials to close all the fields at Central Oahu Regional Park today, the city Department of Parks and Recreation said.

The closure was reported about 12:30 p.m. and includes the baseball, softball, and multi-purpose fields.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding,” the department said in a statement.

A rain gauge in Mililani recorded .16 inches of rain falling in the 24-hour period that ended at noon, according to the National Weather Service.
