A brown-water advisory has been issued for Sunset Beach on Oahu’s North Shore due to heavy rain.

The state Department of Health advises the public to stay out of floodwaters and stormwater runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer manholes, pesticides, pathogens and other associated flood debris.

A brown-water advisory also remains in effect for North and East Hawaii, including Mahukona Beach Park. Visit the clean-water branch website for updates.
