Senia chefs Anthony Rush and Chris Kajioka

Chris Kajioka and Anthony Rush, chef-owners of the acclaimed Senia restaurant, are planning to open a new restaurant next fall on Maui.

Ondine, slated for the Hotel Wailea, will focus on ingredients from Maui, and its kitchen will have exclusive relationships with island farms. The restaurant will offer three distinct features: a private, interactive chef’s kitchen with tasting counter, a garden terrace overlooking the kitchen and a treehouse private dining space for small groups.

The restaurant is backed by Senia investor Jonathan McManus, who is also an owner of Hotel Wailea.

Kajioka and Rush took the Hawaii restaurant scene by storm in December when they opened Senia, which quickly garnered a James Beard Award nomination and international praise. Senia is located in downtown Honolulu.

The chefs will be traveling to New York for a Nov. 9 dinner at the James Beard House to launch Ondine.
