Police and CrimeStoppers are asking for the public’s help in finding two males wanted for robbing a Halawa fast-food restaurant with machetes over the weekend.

Police said at about 5:45 a.m. Saturday, two masked males, armed with machetes, entered McDonald’s Halawa and attempted to take money from the registers, but couldn’t get them open. Both suspects ran away. Police opened a first-degree robbery investigation.

The first suspect was described as 5 feet 4 inches with a slim build. He was wearing a black or gray hooded jacket with black pants and a white mask. The second suspect was described as 5 feet 7 inches with a medium build and wearing a black or blue hooded jacket, black shorts and a white mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME from a cell phone.

Correction: An earlier version of this story misidentified the Halawa McDonald’s as the Salt Lake McDonald’s.
