Boat’s grounding points up risks of fishing fleet’s labor practices

Crews continued work on Nov. 4 to salvage the Pacific Paradise from the reef at Waikiki a month after the 79-foot longline fishing boat ran aground with 19 foreign workers and a U.S. captain aboard. A sheen of either diesel fuel or hydraulic oil has been observed around the boat, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
