Pearl City man facing attempted murder charge turns self in

A 61-year-old man turned himself in to police after he allegedly assaulted his roommate with a knife in Pearl City.

Police said the suspect turned himself in at the Pearl City police station Sunday afternoon. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder and remains in custody.

At about 8:30 p.m. Friday, police said the suspect assaulted his roommate, a 51-year-old man, with a knife at their residence “causing substantial bodily injuries.” A friend transported the victim to a hospital.

The attack was reported to police. Officers responded to the scene but the suspect fled before police arrived.
