Man dies days after Kapolei crash

A 78-year-old man who was critically injured in a crash in Kapolei on Friday has died, the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office said today.

The office identified the man as Nouphanh Malaylay, of Kapolei. He died Sunday. The exact cause of his death has yet to be determined.

An Emergency Medical Services report said two other people were hurt in the crash about 3:10 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Kapolei Parkway and Kahiuka Street.

Two women, age 55 and 89, were also transported to a trauma center, both in serious condition, the report said.
