Dialysis patients worry over HMSA policy change

    Dialysis patient Salome Tupou was in tears Wednesday as she spoke about her fear of losing access to dialysis treatments due to a new HMSA policy, at a news conference at St. Elizabeth Church. Behind her were social workers and nurse managers.

Salome Tupou, who is suffering from kidney failure, tearfully described her fear of losing access to dialysis treatments when Hawaii Medical Service Association bans charities from helping to pay patients’ medical premiums. Read more
