Firefighters search for cause of Aiea fire

Firefighters were investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire today in Aiea.

About 35 firefighters responded to the fire in the 98-1780 block of Piki Street at about 6:45 p.m. and found a one-story residential structure with smoke and flames coming from the front and right windows, said Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Scot Seguirant.

Firefighters contained the fire to the kitchen and living room and extinguished it by 7:15 p.m.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one was hurt.

The cause and a damage estimate were under investigation.
