Previous coverage:

A flash flood watch remains in effect for all Hawaiian isles through this afternoon, while unstable conditions are forecast for today.

The National Weather Service says locally heavy downpours and isolated thunderstorms with frequent lightning and gusty winds remain possible today due to a trough aloft over the state.

More stable weather is expected to return beginning late tonight and Thursday through the end of the week as the trough moves east and trade winds spread across the islands behind a weak front.

The weekend is expected to be dry, with benign tradewinds, but another bout of wet and unstable weather is possible next week.

The winter storm warning for Hawaii island summits, meanwhile, has been canceled, although the potential for scattered snow showers are possible today. The wind advisory for Hawaii island summits has also been canceled.
