3 hurt as Waikiki trolley hits pedestrians

Three women sustained injuries after they were struck by a trolley while crossing a street in Waikiki.

At 10:15 p.m. Thursday, Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of three injured pedestrians at the intersection of Kalakaua and Royal Hawaiian avenues.

EMS said the rear wheel of a trolley struck the three women, ages 62, 67 and 86.

Paramedics treated and transported them to a trauma hospital in serious condition.
