A map shows the work zone and detour route for sidewalk repair on Kalihi Street.

Kalihi Street will be closed overnight in the Kaneohe-bound direction between Beckley and Bernice streets over the next two weeks for sidewalk repair work, beginning 9 p.m. on Sunday, according to state transportation officials.

The lane closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly, Sunday through Friday morning, and during the same hours from March 11 to 16, weather permitting.

Motorists traveling Kaneohe-bound on Kalihi Street will be detoured around the closure via North King, Houghtailing, and Bernice streets to get back on to Kalihi Street. Motorists wishing to access the eastbound H-1 freeway may use the Liliha Street onramp.

Electronic message boards will be posted, and special-duty police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

Updates to lane closures are available at hidot.hawaii.gov.
