Less tobacco use saves state more than $1B

    Despite the declining amount of tobacco users in Hawaii, use of electronic vaping products has risen with 25 percent of high school students reporting using e-cigarettes. Vapes, liquids and other products are displayed at a vapor store in Seattle.

State officials estimate Hawaii has saved more than $1 billion in total heath care costs due to the reduction in smoking since 2000. Read more
