Hawaii left fielder Johnny Weeks recorded the final out of the game in the ninth inning.

Brody Hagel-Pitt and Dylan Thomas combined on a six-hitter to lift Hawaii to today’s 6-2 baseball victory over Cal Poly at Les Murakami Stadium.

The Rainbow Warriors ended a four-game skid, and improved to 23-19 and 9-9 in the Big West. The Mustangs, who won the first two of this three-game series fell to 21-25 and 8-7.

Hagel-Pitt, who pitched two-thirds of an inning on Saturday, was pressed into a starting role because of ailments to three UH pitchers. Hagel-Pitt allowed one earned run on three hits in five innings.

Thomas, the closer, was summoned at the start of the sixth inning, the earliest appearance of his collegiate career. Thomas pitched the final four innings for his 12th save.

The ’Bows led 3-1 before scoring three runs in the eighth.
