Fire units assist injured hiker on Koko Head Trail

Five fire units assisted an injured 26-year-old woman who had fallen tonight on the Koko Head Trail.

The woman was hiking with a companion, when she fell about three-fourths of the way into the hike.

The fire department responded at 6:57 p.m. tonight, launching Air 1, its helicopter, and dispatching a total of 16 personnel.

The first unit arrived and established a command at 7:05 p.m. Fire personnel went on foot and got to the woman at 7:34 p.m.

The woman was stabilized and airlifted by Air 1 to a landing zone at Koko Head District Park, where she was transferred to Emergency medical Services personnel at 8:02 p.m.
