New law enacts tougher penalties for drift racing

    Mayor Kirk Caldwell signed Bill 7 into law Wednesday. It sets maximum penalties for drifting or drift racing at $2,000 in fines or a year in jail or both. Triathlete Lectie Altman, on crutches, was critically injured by a drifting driver on Tantalus Drive in January.
