HFD rescues injured bike rider on Sunset Pillbox Trail
Honolulu Fire Department rescue personnel assisted an injured mountain bike rider on the Sunset Pillbox Trail this afternoon.
The rider, identified as a 60-year-old man, was biking near the trail when he fell and was injured, according to an HFD report.
Firefighters responding to the 2:19 p.m. emergency call traveled up the trail by foot and found the rider shortly after 3 p.m.
The man was transported via helicopter to a landing zone established at Sunset Beach Elementary School and transferred to the care of Emergency Medical Services.
