University of Hawaii men’s duo loses in beach volleyball final

The University of Hawaii’s Brett Rosenmeier and Colton Cowell finished second at the USAV Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championships today, falling to Florida State’s Jon Justice and Adam Wienckowski, 15-21, 28-26, 15-12, in Hermosa Beach, Calif.

The Rainbow Warrior duo, who placed fourth in this event last year, went 3-1 in this year’s three-day tournament. With the win, the FSU pair earned a spot to represent the United States this summer at the FISU World University Games in Munich, Germany.

Rosenmeier-Cowell led the deciding Set 3 7-4 before Justice-Adam Wienckowski tied it at 10. The Seminole pair used a 5-2 run to close it out and take the title.
