Parking is expected to be tight at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport over the Memorial Day weekend due to ongoing construction and increased holiday traffic.

Construction will make Lot B off-limits to drivers as of June 1 and eliminate more than 300 stalls.

Parking will be available at the Terminal 1 parking garage (formerly named the Interisland Terminal Parking Structure) and the Terminal 2 parking garage (formerly the Overseas Parking Structure), but these typically fill up first. Travelers also may park in the International Parking Structure, which is accessible from the ground floor and top level of the Terminal 1 garage.

The state Department of Transportation is advising travelers to arrange rides to and from the airport during this peak period.

A new airport gate and baggage claim numbering system will take effect June 1.
