Grand jury returns manslaughter indictment in Ewa Beach front door shooting

An Oahu grand jury returned a manslaughter indictment today against an Ewa Beach man who shot and killed a person attempting to enter his home.

Gregory Allen Farr, 33, is also charged with two counts of possessing an unregistered firearm. His bail is $75,000.

Pearl Harbor Navy Chief Petty Officer John Ellsworth Hasselbrink was killed Apr. 15 when he was hit by a shot fired through Farr’s front door. Hasselbrink lived in the next building in a neighborhood of identical-looking town homes.
