Shark warning signs posted at Pokai Bay in Waianae

The shark warning signs are back up at Pokai Bay in Waianae today after an approximately 10-foot shark was sighted this morning, according to Honolulu Ocean Safety officials.

Lifeguards cleared the water and posted warning signs after a shark was seen about 200 yards offshore about an hour ago.

The shark warning signs at Pokai Bay were first posted on Monday, and remained up until day’s end Wednesday due to the spotting of two large sharks. They appeared to be the same sharks that were spotted about 50 yards outside of the breakwater on Monday.
