2. Gold that you can eat? Talk about conspicuous consumption. It may seem excessive, like only for da kine people with Champagne wishes and caviar dreams, but it’s now been made affordable for you to eat your very own 23-Karat gold. (No worry, da ting supposed to pass right through your body. I asked. Lol.)

3. Jody Lovins is da author and illustrator of da children’s picture book “‘Opihi Baby.” And I found out recently she makes these gorgeous opihi dishes too. Um … how much you like bet Jody Lovins loves opihi? Lol. I get one confession to make. I’ve nevah had da desire to entertain people at home before.

But with dishes like these I tink I would kinda wanna. Just to show them off.

You might have to shell out a lot of money for these fanciful, food-safe ceramic bowls, but they will definitely get da conversation started. Party on, opihi lovers.

4. For that perfect Hawaiian-style family portrait, it used to be that if Mommy and Daddy wanted for take photos with their infant child wearing matchy-matchy aloha attire, they’d have no choice but to wait till da kid got older, cuz nevah have sizes that small.

5. Before time, my Uncle Alvin used to tease people who thought dey wuz bettah than everybody else. “What, he tink he poop ice cream?” is what he would tell. So in my mind, pooping ice cream wuz never one good ting.
