Maui firefighters rescued a fisherwoman who fell Wednesday night about 25 feet off the edge of a cliff with a 100-foot drop below in Haiku.

The 35-year-old Maui resident was clinging to a tree when firefighters arrived. She had fallen on the east side of Maliko Gulch, the Maui Fire Department said in a press release.

The fire department received reports of the fall at 6:57 p.m. The Paia engine crew and a rescue crew responded to the incident.

Fire crews used a rope system to quickly secure the woman and raise her to safety.
