City Emergency Medical Services’ paramedics transported a bodyboarder to a hospital in critical condition today after he was found unresponsive in waters at Makapuu Beach.

Lifeguards brought the bodyboarder, described to be a 52-year-old man from Oahu, to shore about 2 p.m. after he was found in the water.

The man regained a pulse after lifeguards administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation, according to Shayne Enright, EMS spokeswoman.

EMS personnel arrived, treated the man and took him by ambulance to a hospital.
