Disney Cruise Line announced this morning that it would return to Hawaii in 2020 after a five-year hiatus.

The Disney Wonder will return to Hawaii in early 2020 for a nine-night voyage to Honolulu from Vancouver, Canada, on April 29, and a 10-night sailing back to Vancouver on May 8.

The cruises through the Hawaiian Islands, which feature tour opportunities to Waikiki beaches on Oahu, the Haleakala Crater on Maui, Kauai’s tropical gardens and waterfalls and Hawaii island’s natural wonders.

That’s good news considering cruise ship visitors to Hawaii dropped nearly 7 percent year-to-date through August, which only brought 66,755 visitors on 38 ships as opposed to 150,092 visitors on 43 ships.

In August, arrivals by air to board cruise ships dropped nearly 8 percent and total cruise visitors, including arrivals by cruise ships and by air to board cruise ships, dropped 27 percent to 9,286 compared to a year ago.
